Hello, Blogging World
Take a seat (or stand up) for a short but honest introduction of myself. I’m a mother and wife, born and raised in a culturally diverse city while embracing my own Filipina roots. During my kindergarten graduation ceremony, I went up to the hanging mic, as did all my classmates, and stated what I wanted to be when I grow up: a movie star. So here I am, not a movie star, but someone who's finding her place in this interesting world. I’m quite reserved and I enjoy self-care time whenever possible, though I don't mind surrounding myself and connecting with others. I have this desire to learn, to be surrounded by the academic culture, and to put myself out there, especially in this remote/virtual environment.
My first online blog started with Xanga during my high school years. During that time, I didn’t really have a solid direction as it was utilized as an outlet for documenting memorable days and random thoughts, some of which were quite intimate. But I realized that blogging was a platform for me to open up, receive and respond to feedback, and practice my writing skills. I also made new friends and reconnected with old ones that I haven’t heard from or seen for a long time.
There are many reasons why I want to start blogging again and try out vlogging even though I am absolutely not a natural in public speaking. But for the most part, I do hope blogging is something that I will continue to do (forever) until my adventures are up. I hope my posts will remain secure to reminisce about all the interesting thoughts and events that have occurred. And I hope to spotlight ideas and information that are wholesome, meaningful, and different.
