My Projected 2021 Planner System

I really wanted to get into the Hobonichi Cousin/Techno bandwagon though my heart and lifestyle was always with Nolty 6501, especially since it has less pages than the Hobonichi. So while I was on Amazon.co.jp adding the Nolty 6501 planner and proceeded to the checkout page, I closed out the window… I knew I wanted the planner, but it gave me a better idea.

I decided to use an unopened Leuchtturm1917 A5 square-grid and somehow turn it into a Nolty-style bullet journal. The Nolty is normally set up with the starting date on December prior to the year, which will be reflected in my journal. The Leuchtturm1917 A5 dot-grid was actually my first for bullet journaling back in 2016 or 2017 – it met a lot of my expectations and it certainly had an overall good performance on different types of inks in terms of feathering, bleeding, and ghosting. I also love the page ribbons to reference specific areas in the journal, the curved corners, the flat-lay design, sufficient amount of sheets, cover options, and many other structural features.

To further set the tone of my bullet journal, I also admire the Take-A-Note (TAN) journal that I used in 2019 because it gave me enough room to write what's necessary, and two days were represented in one page in the TAN. So, the feel of my 2021 BUJO will have Nolty and TAN vibes.

Included in my 2021 planning system is the Galen Leather's Notebook Folio in horse forest green. I have a great experience with their Leather Notebook (in horse forest green too, lol) which is for personal use. They have the Notebook Folio in smoke gray and it is absolutely beautiful! But I promise myself not to buy it haha. I purchased this particular journal cover for many reasons: it is durable, zippered, has pockets, has a detachable 4-slotted pen holder, 3 additional pen loops sewn into the cover that can also be used to hold your wired earbuds and other cords, and a key holder in the interior part of the spine. Those are all bonuses for me because I don't have to carry a separate pen case!

I might do a plan-with-me blog/vlog to showcase how I'm actually going to set everything up, including my current go-to writing instruments and other stationery items that I will be using throughout the year. Until then, have a wonderful rest of November!
